Roughly a year ago we said our final farewells to our old friend the Primatene® Mist OTC inhaler. But just as the aged Father Time gives rise to the youthful New Year, the makers of this relic of respiratory relief has spawned a fresh and CFC-free over-the-counter treatment for bronchial asthma. Say “hello” to Asthmanefrin™! Delivered via a battery operated, portable, handheld nebulizer-like device styled the EZ Breathe Atomizer, this racemic epinephrine treatment replaces its antiquated counterpart, though with mixed consumer reviews. It is similar to a nebulizer, and as such requires much more in the way of cleaning and overall maintenance to ensure proper performance and medication delivery. As such, it is less convenient than it’s primeval predecessor. And if not kept in good working condition it may even be less effective. Even so those with bronchial asthma, who struggle to not only breath but to afford a reliable means of relief, will find in Asthmanefrin™ a fresh alternative Primatene® Mist.
