It appears that recent conclusions reached by the World Health Organization that MERS “had not yet reached pandemic potential and may simply die out” has not found consensus; at least not with the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Evidently, Kathleen Sebelius agrees with Disney that “the way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Having determined that “the virus … which has killed at least 40 people, poses a potential public health threat,” Mrs. Sebelius has set in motion crisis prevention measures by the CDC and the FDA which have recommended and issued “an emergency authorization…for a diagnostic test to detect the presence of the Middle East coronavirus,” according to NBC News Health.

All the uncertainty is…well…disconcerting! Is MERS the next Pandora-like pandemic threatening pandemonium? WHO knows. Maybe not?
