WEBINAR: ICD-10 Code Change
Presenters: Tammy Reno, Project Manager, Vanderbilt University Medical Center Informatics, and Terri Brown, Program Coordinator for Pediatric Rehabilitation Services, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt
On Oct. 1, 2014, the ICD-9 code sets used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures will be replaced by ICD-10 code sets. The transition to ICD-10 is required for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Adoption of ICD-10 in multiple Outpatient and Acute groups on the same day will be necessary for Vanderbilt Rehab Leadership. Take part in this 1.5 hour seminar to learn what steps Vanderbilt leaders have taken to prepare for ICD-10, learn the challenges you may encounter along the way and hear how Mediware’s technology capabilities helped make the transition process easier.
The presenters will also answer:
- How do you train your brain to think differently – to learn in ICD-10 terms?
- How do you make this large change that affects the whole enterprise small enough for each therapist to feel comfortable coding their diagnosis for the current patient?
- How does the Mediware ICD widget help you to find the “perfect 10″?
Who Should Attend:
Rehab directors and managers, information technology leaders and therapists will benefit by attending. This webinar will be designed around an outpatient hospital example, but the information will be applicable to those working in the acute care and inpatient rehabilitation facility space as well.
