Plans to improve existing functionality and technology with extensive upgraded features to MediLinks platform during the next year
LENEXA, KS September 9, 2013 – Mediware Information Systems, Inc., announced today it will invest $2.8 million on enhancements to its Rehabilitation and Respiratory Care electronic documentation solutions.
The project includes upgrades to current MediLinks products, which are used by more than 2,500 facilities across the country. Mediware officials say they are committed to improving the platform to meet the evolving market and industry needs. Many of the product enhancements are already underway. Among the many upgrades: a new respiratory patient management solution; improved outcomes tools throughout the inpatient and outpatient rehab solutions; improved scheduling functionality and changes to the MediLinks outpatient workflow and regulatory compliance standards to meet the needs of the new G-code and Therapy Cap requirements.
“We understand the constant changes in the market place and see the need for growth as the baby boomer generation utilizes the post-acute care market more regularly,” said Thomas Mann, CEO, Mediware. “This initial investment in modernizing the MediLinks platform will keep our powerful solutions on the leading edge of the industry and continue to support our clients’ needs.”
Mediware acquired MediServe in December 2012 and planning for the project started immediately after the purchase. Completion is set for July 2014. Mediware will announce a number of product releases in the coming months that will detail more extensive functionality upgrades.
Company leaders purchased MediServe for its significant domain knowledge and 27-year history offering a market-leading product suite for hospital networks and outpatient and private practice providers.
