Chandler, AZ – May 5, 2014– Mediware Information Systems, Inc.’s Robert Habasevich, MS, PT, will speak at the Florida State Association of Rehabilitation Nurses Conference May 7-9, at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort in Orlando, Florida. Habasevich’s presentation, “The Rehabilitation Nursing Contribution to Value-Based Purchasing for Post-Acute Care” will be presented to hundreds of rehabilitation nurses and case managers based in Florida
Throughout the presentation, Habasevich will ask participants to consider the nurse’s role both inside and outside of the Rehab Hospital – helping the hospital position its value across the continuum of Post-Acute Care. In doing so, he will describe the transition of healthcare from volume to value-based payment, describe the quality incentives that are placing increased responsibilities on nurses to measure and report effectiveness, review many of the quality measures available to the nursing field in order to quantity value and explain how to relate payment changes to professional opportunities in order to advance the nursing practice. His speaking points will also include an analysis of how the Affordable Care Act will transform healthcare services and costs.
Habasevich will speak from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 8. The FSARN Conference theme is “Rekindle Your Passion for Rehab Nursing.” Rehabilitation nurses, case managers and other Allied Health Care providers are invited to attend the 3 day event featuring presentations, posters and networking events.
Habasevich has followed the effect of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (2010) for its influence upon post-acute care and nursing practices, including writing a white paper on the topic, which can be downloaded on mediware.com.
