LENEXA, Kan., Dec. 16, 2016 Customers using LifeTrak, the industry-leading blood center and donor management application from Mediware Information Systems, Inc., joined together to discuss new features and industry hot topics as well as suggest future enhancements to the software system.
Following the 2016 AABB Annual Meeting at the end of October, users convened at Mediware’s annual blood and cell therapy users conference. At this event, LifeTrak users got a sneak peek at the release currently in development and were able to propose their own ideas for additional enhancements.
Prior to this, users from small and large organizations, including the Department of Defense, gathered in Dallas, where several of the newest LifeTrak application features were unveiled. Hot topics addressed at this event included APIs and interfaces as well as reports, alternate IDs and donor cards, and customer support systems enhancements. The LifeTrak team also demonstrated the first-ever module in the blood establishment computer software (BECS) market that enables blood centers to capture data related to the use of pathogen reduction (PR) technology. “We are very interested in pathogen inactivation, so we were pleased to see a demonstration and learn how the LifeTrak software collects, monitors, and uploads PR data,” said Kevin Bueche, IS architect for Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA.
Another highlight of both of these customer-focused events was the collaboration and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. “We are pleased to see so many LifeTrak software users sharing their favorite features and assisting each other with tips for making the most of the application,” added Marsha Senter, product manager for the application.
“The user group meetings offer a crucial opportunity to interact with Mediware and other blood centers that use the LifeTrak products,” said Jeff Centilli, director of applications for Carter BloodCare. “By sharing best practices and discussing future software enhancements, we improve our ability to leverage LifeTrak software and its data throughout our organization, which ultimately helps us realize our commitment to the north Texas community.”
During both events, customers also had the opportunity to provide feedback on LifeTrak features and suggest enhancements for upcoming releases. “We want to ensure that the software delivers on our focus of improving safety and increasing efficiencies for our blood center, hospital, and military users, so we welcome and very much appreciate input from our customers,” stated Michael Anania, vice president and general manager of Mediware’s Blood Management Technologies division.
