Reston, VA – October 19, 2010 – Harmony Information Systems Inc., the leader in integrated health and human services management, announced today Harmony for Aging OmbudsManager (OmbudsManager), a new web-based version of the market-leading OmbudsManager solution built for nursing home complaint management and federal National Ombudsman Reporting System (NORS) compliance.  This new version is built upon Harmony’s new state-of-the-art technology platform to enhance usability and optimize the user experience.

“We are happy to be working hand in hand with Harmony in the redesign of the OmbudsManager solution and are excited about the next generation of this technology,” said Teresa Stricker, State Ombudsman, Nevada.  “As co-chair of the OmbudsManager Users Group, I know the community is looking forward to continued collaboration with Harmony to further evolve this product to meet the future needs of Ombudsmen throughout the country.”

Used by over half the state Ombudsman programs in the country, OmbudsManager provides intuitive and comprehensive nursing home complaint management and fully automates federal NORS reporting. The next generation OmbudsManager solution is a purpose-built, web-based solution which features:

  • A rich user experience to enhance productivity
  • Robust Microsoft SQL database to improve performance and overall capacity
  • Improved compliance with NORS reporting requirements
  • Customer-requested enhancements to application and reports

“As the aging population continues to grow, there has never been a more critical time to help improve the level of care in our nation’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities,” said Joseph Sander, President and Chief Executive Officer for Harmony.  “We are confident that our next generation solution will enable Ombudsmen to more effectively manage nursing home complaints and meet federal NORS reporting requirements to help improve the quality of care and quality of life for facility residents.”

The Harmony suite of solutions is rapidly becoming the standard for aging services organizations throughout the country.  Harmony for Aging is the most widely used solution in the United States for home and community-based care and is relied on by the majority of agencies across the national aging network.  Harmony for APS, which was introduced in 2009, is already live in three state-wide deployments.
