Harmony Hosts Sold Out 13th Annual Users Conference for Human Services Professionals

Annual Event Focused on Optimizing the Use of Technology to Deliver Highest Level of Service for Medicaid- and Medicare-Funded Programs

RESTON, VA., October 30, 2013 – Harmony Information Systems, Inc. (Harmony), the leader in integrated health and human services management, announced today a record number of human services professionals gathered in Cincinnati, Ohio for the 2013 Harmony Users Conference, the industry’s leading long-term services and supports conference,  from October 23 through October 25, 2013.  The three-day, sold out event focused on empowering Harmony’s health and human services customers to successfully “Navigate the Tides of Change” and deliver the highest level of service in the face of expanding consumer demand and dwindling budget and resources.

This year’s conference featured two keynote speakers: Dr. Eric Coleman, Director of the Care Transitions Program, who provided an overview of the Community Care Transitions program and insight into ways Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) can fully engage the family caregiver, improve relations with hospitals, and overcome implementation challenges; and Tina Abbate Marzolf, Chief Executive Officer of the Area Agency on Aging 1-B in Michigan and Harmony customer, who spoke about ways her organization is embracing change, innovation, and technology to fulfill their mission to enhance the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities within their community.

Many conference breakout sessions featured Harmony customers highlighting successful initiatives and innovative ways they have used technology to improve service quality and meet requirements for new programs including Community Care Transitions, Money Follows the Person, and more.  The conference also featured a panel discussion with customers who shared experience about how their organizations use Harmony to best serve consumers with limited resources.  Featured customer panelists included:
