WEBINAR: Health Information Exchanges: Behavioral Health Providers’ Next Challenge

Jeff Baird

Jeffrey S. Baird

On February 1, 2018, all North Carolina Medicaid providers must be connected to North Carolina’s Health Information Exchange Authority in order to continue receiving payments for services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries. North Carolina is the first state to mandate provider participation in a health information exchange system. However, it will not be the last because one of the Affordable Care Act’s policy goals is integrative healthcare with an emphasis on open communications; therefore, the likelihood of mandated participation in other states is high.

Join Jeffrey S. Baird, Esq., Chairman of the Health Care Group of Brown & Fortunato, P.C., for an eye-opening review of health information exchange requirements that will impact your practice soon.

This presentation will help attendees:

  • Understand the requirements of health information exchange participation
  • Learn the benefits of participating in open patient information systems
  • Understand the objectives of HIE and how to prepare for your state’s changes
