The Older Americans Act (OAA) was the first federal level initiative aimed at providing comprehensive services for older adults. The OAA created the National Aging Network comprising the Administration on Aging on the federal level, State Units on Aging, and Area Agencies on Aging at the local level. It funds critical services that keep older adults healthy, independent, and engaged — meals, job training, senior centers, transportation, health promotion, and more.
The Older Americans Act is up for reauthorization in 2011.
In support of the reauthorizing the OAA, the National Council on AgingThe Exchange. The Exchange is a space to share, discuss, vote on, and advance the best and brightest ideas for OAA reauthorization.
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard. You can submit your ideas and vote on others’ ideas on The Exchange website. Thanks NCOA!
