WEBINAR: DME Telehealth Arrangements: What is Proper and What is a Sham?
Telehealth arrangements are becoming a “wave of the future” that can save physicians time and prove just as effective as an in-person physician/patient encounter. Although telehealth technologies add flexibility for the patient, it doesn’t go without a burden on the DME supplier to ensure the telehealth encounter is legitimate and not a “sham.” Participating in a “sham” telehealth encounter can not only lead to a claim denials but can also result in a government investigation of the suppliers.
Join Jeffrey S. Baird, Esq., chairman of the Health Care Group of Brown & Fortunato, P.C., to learn how your DME business can participate in telehealth arrangements while staying within the law.
This presentation will help attendees:
- Recognize how telehealth requirements vary from state to state; including visual and audio encounters
- Analyze Medicare requirements for reimbursement so that suppliers’ claims are not denied
- Understand violations of the Medicare anti-kickback statute regarding telehealth encounters
