Right Blood. Right Patient. In 60 seconds or less.
The BloodSafe® Solution Suite from Mediware is a combination of hardware and software that makes it easier for hospital blood banks to remotely allocate, store and quickly dispense life-saving blood. With BloodSafe, you can remotely store and release blood from a secure refrigerator located right inside your high-need areas like surgical, trauma or emergency. That means clinicians have easier, more immediate access to it exactly when and where it's needed.
Smart, easy-to-use and unbelievably fast
BloodSafe is the only remote system that's fully integrated with a blood bank transfusion system. BloodSafe's intelligent integration with HCLLTM Transfusion, also available from Mediware, allows blood bank staff to seamlessly move inventory from the blood bank to remote locations. So you have the same control and power you have inside the blood bank along with complete traceability of every movement and status including final disposition. This smart integration dramatically streamlines the workflow for a more efficient operation. Plus, it's proven to speed turnaround time, reduce costs and eliminate waste.
Once inventory is placed in the BloodSafe machine, authorized personnel simply scan their own as well as the patient's identification information, and the appropriate product is cross-matched and dispensed. The whole process takes less than 60 seconds. If any step is performed incorrectly, the machine won't dispense, so there's no opportunity for error.
Complete, from the blood bank to the bedside
Use BloodSafe in combination with BloodSafe® Tx at the bedside for even greater control. Accurately matching the right blood products to the right patients is critically important to avoid life-threatening errors. With BloodSafe Tx, you have the ability to verify patient and product from the moment a sample is collected to the actual transfusion at the bedside. Plus, it captures transfusion vitals that are important for blood bank review. And it enables single nurse confirmation of patient identifiers at the bedside so your nursing staff is freed up to perform other duties.
