Mediware Adds Senior Executive to Management Team
Alan Wittmer is hired to lead corporate development initiatives including acquisitions, partnerships and strategic account management.
LENEXA, KS Sept. 4, 2009 - Mediware Information Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDW) announced today that Alan Wittmer has joined the company’s executive team to lead corporate and business development initiatives. Mr. Wittmer joins Mediware from 3M where he was vice president of business development for the company’s Health Information Systems (HIS) division.

Mr. Wittmer has more than 19 years of experience in various healthcare information technology companies. “At 3M Alan managed numerous acquisitions and a divestiture for the HIS division. He also oversaw 3M’s HIS alliance program which grew revenue at a compounded rate of over 25% during the past three years,” continued Mr. Mann.
In addition to more than a decade at 3M, Mr. Wittmer was one of two executives who launched PACE Health Management Systems where he led the development of an advanced bedside charting system for acute care hospitals. 3M acquired PACE in 1998. Prior to PACE Mr. Wittmer worked for Motorola, AT&T and Digital Equipment Corporation in various sales and marketing roles.
“Alan was instrumental in building the PACE start-up and played a key role in accelerating the 3M HIS division’s growth. He will add critical expertise to support Mediware’s’ growth objectives,” concluded Mr. Mann.
